Having ceased production of the original V8 Vantage in 1989, Aston Martin finally introduced a new, more sports-focused V8 Vantage in 2005 to rival the Porsche 911 (997). Production ran from 2005 through to 2017 with 15,417 V8 Vantage’s produced in total.
Fitted with an all-new 380 bhp 4.3 litre V8 engine, and using the latest technology to deliver sensational performance in all environments enabled the V8 Vantage to hit a top speed of 175 mph and accelerate 0-60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.

In 2008, all models were fitted with a 4.7 litre V8 engine which increased the output to 420 bhp. This increased the car's top speed to 180 mph and an improved 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds.
The V8 Vantage came with a choice of either a 6-speed manual transmission or a new 6-speed automatic transmission which was named “Sportshift” and was described by the Aston Martin CEO as “a truly engaging and rewarding driving experience giving an even greater performance feel”.
The exhaust system featured active bypass valves which open at around 4,000 rpm to give a richer engine note so drivers can fully enjoy the glorious sound when cruising around on the 19-inch alloy rims.
